Connect Senoia is an initiative led by the City in partnership with the Atlanta Regional Commission which aims to encourage thoughtful economic growth and enhance pedestrian and multi-use trail connectivity from the downtown center to Senoia’s surrounding neighborhoods.

Project Components

  • 1. Growth & Conservation Plan

    to control growth and conserve natural lands.

  • 2. Connectivity Plan

    that includes a full range of options - from walking, biking, transit, and micro-mobility.

  • 3. Town Center Plan

    to lay out a vision for continued development in the town center.

  • 4. Unified Development Ordinance

    to codify the vision identified in the master plans.

How is the project funded?

Connect Senoia is partly funded through the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Livable Centers Initiative grant. Additional funding is provided by the City of Senoia.

What is the Livable Centers Initiative (LCI)?

Created as a way to reduce vehicle miles traveled and improve air quality, the Atlanta Regional Commission's (ARC) Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) is a grant program that incentivizes local jurisdictions to re-envision their communities as vibrant, walkable places that offer increased mobility options, encourage healthy lifestyles and provide improved access to jobs and services.

Who is involved?

  • The City of Senoia has appointed Assistant City Manager Jeff Fisher, Council members Tracy Brady and Dale Reeder, Tree Committee Chair and Planning Commissioner Allie Garrett, and Planning Commissioner Tom Nolan to lead this initiative.

  • The Atlanta Regional Commission is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency for the 11-county Atlanta region.

  • Street Plans is an internationally recognized urban planning, design, architecture, and transportation planning practice with offices in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, New York and Miami.

  • The Steering Committee is a volunteer advisory group that consists of a diverse group of community members that will provide valuable feedback, guidance, and recommendations for the study. Steering Committee Members will be ambassadors for the study, helping to drive community feedback, excitement, and participation. The committee is comprised of Annie Durr, Debbie Brewer, Jack Martin, Jeffery Gunness, John Wood, Lee Whetstone, Lori Kolbenschlag, Matt Ostrofsky, Maurice Ungaro, Ryan York, Scott Tigchelaar, Shauna Mooney, Suzanne Helfman, Tim Anders, and Willie Pope.
